Just for a change I spent a day on the other side of the camera at Rochester's Dickensian Christmas Festival on Saturday (2nd December).
Following a last minute request for a stand in, I offered to play the character of Scrooge at Eastgate House to help promote all the great Victorian Christmas events coming up there, including performances of Dickens' classic story, A Christmas Carol.
I have to say it was great fun posing for pictures, meeting festival goers, and calling out from the windows of this wonderful 16th century townhouse. I even found myself joining in with the candlelit parade with my trusty housekeeper, Mrs Dilber.
The Dickensian Christmas Festival is run by Medway Council and is a great event to photograph with its many colourful characters and historic backdrops.
Bah humbug? No, we all had the Dickens of a time!

I'm looking forward to shooting at Rochester Castle again at this year's Rochester Castle Concerts. It's always a privilege to shoot at this wonderful venue set in the heart of historic Rochester. The castle and cathedral provide an atmospheric backdrop to this event. I hope to attend on Wednesday July 6th to photograph The Human League, Blancmange and Altered Images.
A magical event and well done to everyone involved.
